I Have to Get Up at WHAT Time?

27 Sep

Hello Readers!

It’s that time of month again…no, not THAT time of month!  Sheesh!  The time of month when I have to do employee communication meetings at the day job.  Now, I happen to live about 45 minutes away from my day job and the meetings start at 6 AM which means I get to get up at 4 AM.  (Sigh)  I really hate employee communication meetings LOL!  What’s worse is, I just got home from a VERY long day – it’s after 9 PM here so, I really need to go to bed which means I won’t get to work on the new novels tonight and that bums me out!  So I figured I would at least update the old blog and let everyone know I’m still alive!  🙂

While I’m rambling, I have just got to say, I LOVE the Dos Equis commercials!  Not only is he the most interesting man in the world  – he is by far the coolest too!  Those commercials sort of remind me of all the sayings about Chuck Norris like – They found out Chuck Norris’ tears cure cancer, too bad he’s never cried.  Classic!  What’s funny is, apparently I’m not the first one to be reminded of those because I searched out the best Dos Equis quotes and someone has a website comparing them with the Norris ones.  Hey, great minds think alike!  Here are some of the best quotes for your amusement.  I got them here: http://www.policymic.com/articles/9659/22-of-the-best-dos-equis-the-most-interesting-man-in-the-world-quotes-video.

Another Project!

18 Sep

You know how sometimes you are just completely taken over by something and you were not expecting it? Well that has happened to me – again! Like most people who have creative tendencies, I always seem to have more than one project going at one time. Well, one of the projects that I had on the back-burner has completely taken precedence and I have to just go with it! When the creative juices are flowing – you certainly have to utilize the product right? I mean, you for sure don’t want to just turn off the juicer when it’s working so efficiently! So, while I’m still working on The Fishing Trip, I am also working on a currently untitled novel as well. Sometimes you’ve just gotta roll with it! Ya know?

Another Day at the Office

15 Sep

Hello Readers,

It’s been one of those days where things just wouldn’t seem to go right!  But I haven’t let it get me down, I’ve simply stuck with my motto regarding tough times, “Laugh or cry!”  I choose LAUGH!  🙂  Besides, once I left the day job, it was time to get home and relax a little before doing what I really love to do, WRITE!  Which leads me to an update regarding the novel I’m currently working on.

So I took a few days off to freshen my perspective and now I am ready to get back to it!  I hope that everyone is enjoying my novel that is currently available.  I have a lot of requests to write more about Kellan, Jessica and Alicia – I’m flattered and happy that people love those characters as much as I do!  However, my current project is not about our old friends the Delfords, it is about some entirely new (and hopefully just as lovable) characters who leave for a fishing trip and find themselves in some dangerous, comical and certainly unique situations with a little romance thrown in the mix.  🙂

Anyway, I’m off to get crackin’!  Have a great weekend everyone!

Flashback!

10 Sep

Hello Readers!  In a moment of nostalgia, I have come across one of my poems that was published by my college when I was an undergrad.  It represents my coming out of a very difficult time in my life and I thought I would share it with you!  I hope you enjoy it!

When a Door Slams Shut

My ears vibrated with the slam of the door

My body shook like never before

The world had turned over with nothing the same

My identity lost, my being, my name

Total devastation enveloped my soul

My life was drowning without any hope

Numbness overwhelmed me, it crept and it hummed

The throbbing in my head pulsated and drummed

I remembered a saying, a small glimmer of hope

It kept me going and helped me to cope

That’s when I saw it, that small speck of light

So far away, nearly swallowed by night

The door that had slammed was left slightly ajar

A window of new life, yet it seemed very far

As I fought for life, it grew larger with will

Until finally I reached it and clung to the sill

As I thrust it open, I breathed a deep breath

Felt the grip loosen, the hands of hope’s death.
